About us

Voluntary Action Wakefield District exists to ensure the development of a vibrant voluntary and community sector within the Wakefield Metropolitan District area.

We have five main areas of work. These are:

• support - practical services to help develop, manage and run groups
• development - stimulate and support new initiatives, projects and organisations
• liaison - develop and strengthen the relationship between voluntary and community groups and other sectors, agencies and institutions through networking, joint working and information
• strategic partnership - take an active role in developing the sector's participation in strategic work; raise the sector's profile and promote good practice
• representation - represent the interests of the voluntary and community sector, and enable individual and collective views and voices to be heard.
