Wakefield District BME Forum

The Wakefield District Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) Forum builds links between BME organisations and communities across the Wakefield District to share common experiences, problems and solutions. It provides representation and signposts people to training opportunities and key services in the Wakefield District and across West Yorkshire.

Over the last year the BME Forum has grown with more and more groups becoming involved. The Forum has also been formally constituted and is continuing to increase its membership. We have also developed an increasingly strong link with other BME networks in the region. Over the next year we will look at making sure the views of the BME community in Wakefield are represented subregionally, regionally and nationally.

Three representatives from the BME Forum have been appointed to represent the community at different levels. They will represent the views of the Forum and local BME community as a whole on the Wakefield District Partnership, Wakefield Infrastructure Partnership and VOX Board.
